In her practice, Cecilie Work seeks to capture the aesthetic moment where the meeting of art and eye causes the world around us to dissolve, leaving only pure presence. She invites the viewer into a sphere where the sensual and emotional demand that we feel before we think. In this experience, art becomes a mirror that reflects both the world and our own human presence.
Work’s sculptures carry the rhythm of nature – organic forms and movements inspired by the waves of the sea and the slow transformation of landscapes. For Cecilie, an artwork is not just an object but a fragment of time and space where something deep and true can be felt. Here, we find peace in being present as humans in the world, with all its fragilities and strengths.
With a Master’s degree in Aesthetics and Culture and experience from the Royal Danish Theatre, Cecilie has gained a profound understanding of how art touches both the mind and the senses. In her ceramic practice, both the physical and intellectual are engaged, inviting the viewer to find themselves in the infinite now.
