ena strand is a passion project, where art and nature are the driving forces. By immersing ourselves in what inspires us, it is our hope that we can inspire others to do the same.

The story of ena strand

It all started with doubt…

As our founder gained experience in the glassblowing world, it became evident to her how polluting the industry is. While being passionate about her craft, the desire to keep going grew smaller and smaller. Until it came to her attention that an alternative was available…

Let’s go electric…

It came to our attention that a fully electric glassblowing studio was a possibility - instead of running on gas, which for many reasons, is not a viable resource and option. We met with the company that provides the electric furnaces, and a little spark of hope came to us.

Choosing our home…

As the dream of ena strand began to grow, it was time to choose where to settle. Considering all the options - across the world - Riis kept coming back to the idea of settling down in her childhood home in Tversted, Denmark.

Here we are today…

ena strand was founded in May 2023. We are running an online gallery, a small glassblowing studio with visits by appointment and an organic flower garden. Everything has to start somewhere and we are still in our early, small scale days...

The future of ena strand…

is green! We hope to see our electric glassblowing studio run on renewable energy in place by 2025 — along with our gallery space. Until then, we are working hard to keep all aspects of running ena strand as environmentally friendly as possible.
